Course Description: This award encourages the participants to reflect on values, behaviours, rights, and obligations in the workplace. It is aimed at improving on learners’ life skills and as professional development which can be included in a cv, to increase employability.

Target Group: This course is aimed at leaners 16+, it can however be taken by any candidate wishing to improve one’s professional look. It is particularly aimed at students, the unemployed and those looking for better skills to improve their chances of employability.

Course Structure:
Knowledge
1. Reflect on awareness of their values.
2. Identify motivational behavioural.
3. Evaluate the meaning of values.
4. Recognise one's habits whilst learning to distinguish between good and bad habits.
5. List rights and obligations in the workplace.
6. Describe the terms honesty and trustworthiness.
Skills
7. Evaluate their ethical behaviour.
8. Demonstrate a commitment to themselves and their job.
9. Employ behaviour that promotes taking responsibility for yourself.
Competences
10. Describe why good ethics is important.
11. Understand the key aspects of good ethics.
12. Practice moral decision making.
Entry Requirements: Have a basic secondary education /school leaving certificate. Be able to communicate both orally and in writing in English.
Outline of Course: The focus of this module is on improving one's employability by improving self- awareness of one's values and analysing behaviour that leads to moral decision making skills. Together with other soft skill courses offered, it aims to show. Students how employers consider more than one's academic results, and that these are not the sole factor on which getting a job depends. Tools will be provided, and concepts explored to introduce learners to methods of ethical behaviour in the workplace.

2. Explain the obstacles to making good decisions.

3. Explore the steps to achieving motivation through good workplace ethics.
4. Outline their obligations and rights in the workplace.
5. Give examples of how they can adopt responsible behaviour in the workplace.
6. Define the significance of ethics in the workplace.

Applying knowledge and understanding
The learner will be able to:
7. Employ the seven steps to good decision making.
8. Analyse the key factors of why people do wrong.
9. Make good judgements to be able to make good decisions in the workplace.

1. Rely on their good judgment while evaluating own performance.
2. Describe one action you would undertake to improve your value and ethical decision making.

a) Select the right channels of communication to use it more effectively with others especially employers, colleagues, and customers.

a) Use self-reflection as a tool to increase awareness of strengths
and weaknesses in evaluating values and behaviours.

Module-Specific Digital Skills and Competences
The learner will be able to:
a) Search online for motivational videos.
Learning Outcome 1: Outcome Type – Skill
Select and apply appropriate methods of communication. Use the right jargon to explain self awareness and ethical behaviour.
Learning Outcome 2: Outcome Type – Knowledge
Be aware of the benefits of being more self-reflective. Recognise their strengths and weaknesses and how they can improve where necessary. Demonstrate better decision making through reflection.
Assessment: The assessment for this Award consists of two parts:
1) For the formative assessment participants will be assessed on the compilation of a reflective action plan, their participation in class, in group work and in role-play sessions.
2) For the summative assessment participants will be assessed via a multiple-choice test.
The maximum mark for the course is set at 100% and to be awarded a certificate, students will be required to achieve a minimum aggregate of 50% of the maximum mark.
